Hoffman/New Yorker, Inc is the oldest designer and manufacturer of two distinct product programmes consisting of garment presses and laundry/dry cleaning presses. Today, the company maintains these product programmes as two divisions and has also added specialised fusing machinery particularly for shirt makers, a programme of world renowned wrinkle free processing machinery for trousers and shirts, a product line of automated vertical machines for specific tailored clothing manufacturing needs, and a line of electric boilers/generators used for jewellery steam cleaning, tailor shops, etc. These include automatic shirt finishing machines, SBC-V and DBR-V, TOPCON T-815 jeans and casuals finishing machines and the SEU Series of wrinkle-free pant presses.

The Hoffman SBC-V offers all shirt manufacturers a complete line of shirt finishing equipment and most of the international shirt producers are using its automatic body press, sleeve press, and collar cuff/yoke presses for the final press. These 1st generation machines developed by the company have dry heat pressing surfaces that do require touch-ups. Recently, the company re-engineered the system and combined 2 of the shirt pressing operations and developed a new generation press Model SBC-V for finishing the body and sleeve in 1 operation for casual, formal and wrinkle-free shirt finishing.
The system not only incorporates high temperature pressing plates, but also does live steam spray (to condition the fabric), vacuum holding and air blowing, all of which contribute to a high quality finish that is not achieved while using the labour intensive method of hand finishing with a hand iron and a vacuum table.

The SBC-V machine presses the front, sides, back and sleeves at one time, leaving no iron marks or impressions on the garment. The machine also has an integrated vacuum and air blowing system and all that it requires is a normal 3 phase electrical connection and steam. Another machine DBR-BV, a double buck version, is available giving higher production volume per operator.
Other products that the company plans to showcase at the Garment Technology Expo include the TOPCON T-815 (with front pocket/pleat attachments) for giving any non-creased pair of denim/jeans, skirts, shorts, corduroy, velvet and fleece pants a smooth and soft finish in one easy operation.
This specialised robotic finisher can press or de-wrinkle a garment completely, including the front pockets and the watch packet, and the pleats in casuals can be set with the standard fitted pleat paddle.
All this is done in just 15 seconds giving 1500 pair/ day with 1 operator using 2 machines.
The company has developed an energy efficient wrinkle-free pant press. Hoffman SEU series of Pant Presses are equipped with high heat cast aluminum heads that give even temperature distribution of 150-1550 C without the need for costly electric booster heaters. The microprocessor controller assures accurate press functions. Other standard features include head pressure regulator, 2 cylinder operation, and special wrinkle-free padding.
