Gerber Technology recently launched AccuMark 8.5.1; the latest version of the leading pattern design, grading and marker making software that simplifies paper pattern digitizing, improves material utilization and strengthens integration with Gerber’s YuniquePLM product lifecycle management system. The release is also accompanied by a new version of Gerber’s AccuNest automated nesting software.
In addition AccuMark 8.5.1 supports Gerber’s new AccuScan camera digitizer, a portable pattern input solution. Users simply affix their pattern pieces to a mat imprinted with specialized targets and photograph them using a high-quality, digital camera. The targets enable the AccuScan software to interpret the scale and perspective of the pattern images and accurately convert the images to digital piece data for use in the AccuMark system.
AccuNest includes “Compact,” a new powerful marker compaction function, which is able to see even the slightest opportunities to improve marker efficiency and does so with the push of a button. “Users realize that saving even a few centimetres in a marker can reduce their material costs significantly when material is spread and cut in multiple plies,” says Mary McFadden, Director, CAD Product Management. Compact can be used to shorten existing markers or to compress markers made by AccuNest.
Additionally, AccuMark 8.5.1 supports use of the Roll-Up digitizer, a thin, lightweight system manufactured by GTCO Cal Comp, which rolls up easily for storage or transport. The Roll-Up digitizer is an efficient yet economical solution for those who need to digitize patterns in multiple locations. “With each release of AccuMark, we strive to deliver ways for users to improve productivity, maximize material utilization, accelerate products to market and ensure end product quality,” added McFadden. Existing Gerber customers with a software subscription can upgrade to the latest release of AccuMark and AccuNest free of charge.
