FORLOH, the provider of technical hunting apparels, will be launching hunting outerwear equipped with RECCO – a technology that makes people searchable to professional rescuers in the event of an emergency.
FORLOH’s AllClima Rain and SoftShell Jackets will come integrated with RECCO from this month.
RECCO technology is a patented technology which simplifies the professional rescuers’ task of searching for missing people. The clothes are integrated with RECCO reflectors, passive transponders, which are located by RECOO detectors used by rescuers in order to find the location.
The collaboration comes as RECOO is currently working with the search-and-rescue team in the US and around the world for expanding their RECOO SAR helicopter detector.
These helicopters assist in rapidly searching for people on ground across a vast area.
The RECCO SAR helicopter detector is a larger detector unit and is mounted under a helicopter which helps in reducing the amount of time it takes to search a large area.
Though the technology has been used for years in winter sports gear such as ski and snowboard jackets and boots, this is the first time the technology will be used by a hunting brand expanding its use to hunting market.
Andy Techmanski, Founder and CEO, FORLOH, said “Being prepared is one of the basic requirements when planning any hunt, and the integration of RECCO reflectors into our gear gives our customers and their families back home an added margin of safety and additional peace of mind.”
