Fibretrace rolls out Fibre Impact Module (FIM) – an integrated benchmarking tool that collects impact data from farms including carbon emissions, water use, energy consumption and other environmental performance data as shared by farmers and their agronomists and third-party verified.
FIM is the evolution of Fibretrace, a tool launched in 2018 for establishing transparent textile supply chain through traceability. FIM combines traceability with impact measurement.
It uses the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol accounting standard as its backbone. The tool is helpful for the farmers to verify and claim their commitment to environment excellence through farm-level impact such as water use, energy use, chemical use and soil carbon content.
The raw fibres are integrated with a unique Fibretrace luminescent pigment that allows its tracing and auditing in real time. It allows the consumers and brands to verify the supply chain journey and its fibre content.
Furthermore, the module can be deployed on cotton, Better Cotton, e3, organic cotton and in the near future will include other natural fibres.
