Frontier – an emerging Taiwan-based fashion technology start-up – is all set to participate in Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 from 5 to 7 Januaryin Las Vegas (USA).
As Metaverse has become new buzz word in the fashion industry, Frontier – as a tech provider for digital textile materials – eyes to tap early opportunities by speaking to a session ‘The Fashion Metaverse’ during CES on 6 Jan.
During the session, Frontier will be unveiling the world’s first Fabric Meta Chip, which has been developed to convert physical fabric into digital material, thus allowing virtual apparel to be designed directly from real-world textile fabrics, expanding the benefits of virtual fashion and powering up the textile supply chain.
Commenting on the rising metaverse talks in the industry, Victor Chao, CEO, Frontier recently mentioned during an interview with Apparel Resources, “Frontier is the gateway into the digital fashion metaverse. We see ourselves as the enabler and the facilitator for the physical world to enter the metaverse – while connecting with all of the other applications in the digital world. From East to West, we are the railway for digital assets.”
Victor stated that there are several bottlenecks along the way, the first of which is the issue of the mills bringing their physical fabric to the metaverse.
“The great news is that we have already solved this problem through our AI recognition technology. The second problem we face is how we will approach connecting all of the suppliers or factories — how will it all eventually connect together? Furthermore, there is a need for computing power for edge computing. Frontier is very excited about collaborating and working with ARM in Taiwan to produce a textile meta chip to solve this problem and to give enhanced power and higher resolution — we will be revealing more about this breakthrough on 5 January 2022, at CES,” commented Victor.
