DirecTEX Inc., a US-based knit apparel design and sales firm, has opted for Infor Fashion PLM with Independent Computer Consulting Group (ICCG), a global information technology provider for lifecycle management and collaboration platform. DirecTEX offers fashion-forward, high-quality knitwear products with outstanding customer service at best prices.
The design teams, be it domestic or international, at DirecTEX create seasonal sweater collections and designs for the customer’s private labels. This includes yarn development, stitch and pattern creation along with silhouette design.
The company had been looking for various PLM solutions in order to streamline and simplify the design processes. Infor was selected as it is integrated with Adobe’s creative suite and is flexible enough to handle the technical aspects of knit design.
Also, the PLM solution has the ability to create as well as curate a library of past designs and was able to quickly and efficiently make tech packs which are to be shared with the manufacturing partners.
“We felt very relaxed and chose to go with ICCG as our implementation partner because they had familiarity with the needs of apparel designers. They offered to work directly with our IT provider to create and implement a system, including installing new servers and workstations, to run Infor PLM. They not only helped in implementing the new software but also assisted and trained the designers on how to run the new system efficiently,” said Jacob Baller, Director of Operations, DirecTEX Inc.
Balachandran Anantharama, Senior Vice President, ICCG stated, “ICCG realised the value addition a technology solution like Infor Fashion PLM can bring to the DirecTEX team to help them implement new designs each season faster and also keep complete track from the design to quote to manufacturing process. We configured, trained, and enabled the knitwear development team at DirecTEX to get faster results and serve their customers with agility while maintaining the quality of their knitwear which was very important for DirecTEX.”
