Combined Fabrics Ltd., Pakistan-based vertically integrated garment manufacturer and the country’s largest supplier of knit garments to Levi’s, has added a Tukatech automatic high ply fabric cutter – its third!
With the installation of TUKAcut 9.0, Combined Fabrics Ltd. aims at increasing its cutting capacity.
It’s worth mentioning here that the cutter is from the line of ECO award-winning cutters that meet the requirements of apparel, PPE and uniform manufacturers in the Industry 4.0 era.
According to Tukatech, the latest model of the cutter works on ‘zero buffer’ concept, cuts 9 cm high compressed fabrics and gives productivity which is exemplary.
The same has been awarded most ‘eco-friendly’ cutter for energy consumption (k/w/hour used) which is why the cutter is particularly useful in countries such as Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and some regions in USA where electricity costs of apparel factories can be extremely high when running multiple shifts and demand for faster production is required.
Claiming that Combined Fabrics has been able to reduce 80 per cent of its staff in cutting room, improved its quality and eliminated useless steps using TUKA cutting room solutions, Sheikh Tariq Mehmood, Director of the company commented, “We really are a very happy user of TUKAcad, TUKA3D, CutPlanning, SMARTmark, automatic high ply fabric cutter and spreader and unit production systems. We have almost everything TUKA offers and we are adding more systems only because we have seen the results.”
The company further goes on saying that, during initial days in 2018 when Ram Sareen, Founder and CEO of Tukatech visited the factory and pin-pointed the inefficiencies in cutting room, Combined Fabrics saw 7 per cent fabric savings, immediate improvements and cost savings without implementing any systems at first and with guidance from Tukatech.
“With TUKA systems, Combined Fabrics saw their consumption reduce from 12 per cent to 14 per cent per garment,” reads statement of the company.
