Alchemie Technology, a pioneer in digital material science technology, announces the launch of Novara, a latest digital precision coating technology for technical textiles. The technology can be used for the production of safety-critical products like face masks for protection against Coronavirus.
The company has collaborated with many global manufacturers for the production of personal protective equipments (PPE) and other medical textiles whose shortage has become a global concern in these critical times.
Dr. Simon Kew, Managing Director, Alchemie Technology, shared “We have accelerated the launch of our breakthrough Novara textile coating technology to address the critical shortages of personal protective equipment worldwide.”
He further said “We predict that the worldwide requirement for facemasks will be over 50 million per day, and we are getting ready to address this urgent need.”
The coating technology is made using the conventional coating technology and digital capabilities expanding designing variability of a product while reducing the cost involved.
The technology delivers real-time digital data while the functional coating is being applied. It delivers a 2D-patterned one- or two-sided functional coating to technical textile for the creation of multi-functional textile.
The enhanced benefits of Novara include: room for new product innovation with the accurate 2D digital placement of coating with one- or two-sided application using different materials.
It helps in saving the cost involved in the production as the coating is only applied wherever needed thus also reducing the extra material consumption. Lastly, the digital production benefits with reduced inventory and rapid changeovers in less than 5 minutes and economical short runs.
The digital precision technology is currently available as a stand-alone machine or as a module.
