Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is aiming to export garments worth US $ 18 billion in FY 2015-16 against US $ 16.8 billion in previous year. The association has stated that the target is achievable, considering the infrastructure and rising labour costs issues in neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh and China. Moreover, with the signing of FTA with the EU, the country’s garment exports will go up in the European nations.
