Billionaire Boys Club has announced the launch of a new capsule collection to commemorate the Year of the Dragon. BBC’s brand ICECREAM is introducing a Lunar New Year capsule that integrates the label’s iconic imagery with traditional East Asian heritage motifs.
Remaining faithful to its graphics, the collection intertwines the brand’s own symbols such as the BBC Running Dog and Icecream motif with graphics that hold significance for good fortune in Chinese culture. Billionaire Boys Club and its ICECREAM brand, featured in the capsule, have each presented their own interpretations to honour the Lunar New Year. The designs from Billionaire Boys Club showcase a dragon coiled around the Arch Logo, symbolising good luck and prosperity. Meanwhile, the ICECREAM line features the Chinese character “福” (representing “blessing”), alongside other graphics that symbolise good fortune. Infusing a festive spirit into the collection, shades of yellow are utilised to signify the colour of gold, while red is featured throughout, representing the spirit of the Lunar New Year.
The Lunar New Year capsule is currently available at BBC ICECREAM stores in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The collection will subsequently be offered at BBC ICECREAM flagship stores in the US and EU, as well as online, commencing from 2nd February.
Numerous renowned brands such as Prada, Gucci, and Dior release their Lunar New Year collections annually. Recently fashion brand Diesel dropped its Lunar Year Collection as well.
