Ami designer Alexandre Mattiussi brought a modern twist to classic bourgeois fashion in his fall/winter collection showcased during the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. The collection featured long tailored coats, fitted suit jackets, and sparkling tops, aiming to capture the essence of life within the city’s residential spaces.
Noteworthy ensembles included a sophisticated faux-fur top with three-quarter-length sleeves, a dazzling gold dress with a plunging V-neck, and, for men, a sheer grey tank top paired with high-waisted trousers. Models, both men and women, walked down the runway, set against a façade resembling a Paris apartment building. The idea was to evoke life in Paris as Mattiussi explained after the show, when he was swarmed by guests.
Mattiussi, a recipient of the French fashion prize Andam, established Ami in Paris in 2011, rapidly expanding to Tokyo in four years, followed by Beijing in 2018 and New York in 2021.
Paris Fashion Week’s fall/winter menswear presentations, lasting until 21st January, feature renowned brands such as LVMH, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Valentino, and Balmain, alongside emerging labels like Sean Suen and LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi.
