After having already conquered the world of books, electronics and consumable products, e-commerce mammoth Amazon turns to fashion in a major way. The Seattle-based firm has increasingly made it clear to the world that fashion is definitely on its mind and the release of its new Alexa-powered Echo device just goes to prove the theory. A US $ 200 gadget called Echo Look, the device is termed as a “hands-free camera and style assistant” by the company.

Resembling the look of a large and sleek webcam on a tripod, the device lets users take full-length photos and videos of their attires using just their voices, so they can conveniently share and compare their fashion pictures with everybody. The new gadget will also come packed with all the normal skills and features of Alexa but its tall height and hardware additions enable it to take expansive photos and as well as other options like LED lighting, depth-sensing camera and computer vision-based blur background to increase focus on the clothing.
The third device in the Echo family after the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, Echo Look comes with a built-in software called Style Check that syndicates machine learning algorithms with advice from fashion experts to bounce a “second opinion” on user’s outfits, thereby helping them in also discovering new brands and styles inspired by their look-book.
