One of the most significant seasons for the global fashion industry is Fall time. However, Fall 2020 has proved to be an entirely different season from the previous years as it’s seeing massive disruption in fashion industry due to pandemic!
As a result, the industry has gone virtual to organise fashion shows and fairs and, following the trend, the Award-Winning ‘Fashion Community Week’ has successfully held its first-ever virtual fashion week from 24 to 27 September 2020 in California, USA.
The 4-day virtual event included a worldwide fashion tech conference, runway shows featuring fashion designers (both local and international) and an interactive live shopping event which featured ‘Hot off the runway’ collections.
The global Fashion Tech Conference (on the first day) discussed the ‘Future of Fashion’ and the panelists were the founders of 5 international fashion tech companies – Intelistyle, 3DLook, Easysize, Save your Wardrobe and Else Corp.
The second day brought the California Dreaming runway show which was inspired by the ambiance of the state, featuring local fashion designers. Five distinctive brands – Shass Atelier, Moore Custom Goods, Julour, DLK and Italia A Collection – exhibited their ready-to-wear collection.
The 3rd day of the event premiered an International Couture show which exhibited a collection of handmade bridal and evening gowns created by 6 international Couturiers – IB Bayo, Nubi Collections, Carlitas, Kiara Afrik, Rana Samaan and Elite Pour La Vie.
This live fashion show was entirely audience interactive where viewers could scan QR codes listed next to the outfits in order to shop those products.
In addition to this, the shopping pages presented 3D models wearing the outfits that could be zoomed, rotated and viewed closely, therefore, creating a ‘real time’ effect for buyers to get into detailing of the dresses.
The entire fashion week was premiered through five social media platforms and website which made it accessible for everyone to view from different countries the world over.
