The joint conference of the two largest global textile federations, the IAF World Fashion Convention and the ITMF Annual Conference will take place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on 8th-10th September, 2024.
The ITMF and IAF joint event organised in cooperation with the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association (Uztextileprom), is titled “Innovation, Cooperation & Regulation – Drivers of the Textile & Apparel Industry.”
The conference agenda includes important subjects like artificial intelligence (AI), supply chains, digitalisation, regulation, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). The ITMF Awards Session, which honours distinction in innovation, sustainability, and global cooperation, will also take place during the event.
It’s anticipated that more than 500 influential people from different industry sectors would attend the conference. Delegates from international organisations, textile manufacturers, brands, banks, and retailers will be among the attendees.
According to the description, the conference offers a special chance for global leaders in the textile and apparel industries to interact and promote international collaboration, with the potential to influence the sector’s future course.
Key speakers at the conference include Stephen Lamar, president of the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), and Dirk Vantyghem, general director of the European Apparel and Textile Confederation (EURATEX). Representatives from industry organisations such as Cotton Analytics (USA) and Indorama Corporation (Singapore) will also be present.
Uzbekistan historically central to the Silk Road, exported around US $ 3.5 billion in textiles to over 75 countries last year with plans to increase exports to US $ 6.5 billion by the end of 2026.
