South Korea is once again set to host its only garment machinery and textile industry trade show ‘GT KOREA’, earlier known as Korea International Garment Machinery and Textile Industry Fair, in 2018.
The country has not held any textile & garment fair since Seoul International Sewing Machinery Exhibition (SIMEX) that took place in the year 2005
GT KOREA will run from November 14-16 at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi. Korea Sewing Machinery Industrial Association is organising the fair in collaboration with SeoulMESSE International Ltd., Monthly Bobbin Journal and JES Media Inc.
Around 120 companies are expected to put up 400 booths at GT KOREA to attract key buyers of sewing machinery from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia and other garment manufacturing destinations worldwide.
Product innovation for the smart fibre and technical textile markets will also be the focus area of the 3-day fair.
South Korea is termed as of the biggest manufacturers of sewing technology in the world. However, the country was missing out on a dedicated international-level trade show for the industry.
It is being said that sluggishness in the domestic market was the major reason behind lack of textile fairs.
The event will once again provide a platform to the South Korean manufacturers to ink business deals and expand their network with the overseas buyers.
GT Korea will avoid any clash with CISMA and IFMA, the world’s leading technology exhibitions, to attract more exhibitors and visitors.
