A three-day (August 10-13) Buyer-Seller Meet and Powerloom Textiles Expo is currently underway in Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, India. The fair aims to serve as a platform for both exhibitors and visitors to explore the growth opportunities in Tiruchi’s textile sector.
The textile exhibition is being jointly organised by Regional Office of the Textile Commissioner (Coimbatore) and Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL). Textile manufacturers from across the state are displaying their latest products at the fair featuring around 25 stalls.
At the inauguration ceremony of the Buyer-Seller Meet and Powerloom Textiles Expo, Collector K. Rajamani said that Tiruchi offers all the facilities required for industrial development. He urged the local trade bodies to formulate plans and set targets for the betterment of the city’s textile industry.
Additionally, Tiruchi Textile and Readymade Garments Association has urged the Textiles Ministry officials to make people aware about the several schemes executed by the State Government for the growth of the textile sector so that they can reap benefits.
Fairs like Buyer-Seller Meet and Powerloom Textiles Expo give an opportunity to explore Tiruchi’s textile potential. Increased trade from the Tiruchi will also ease the pressure on its neighbouring city Tirupur as it is already facing issues such as overcrowding and traffic congestion.
