Source Fashion, an exhibition in Europe focusing on responsible sourcing, took place at Olympia London and became a center for crucial discussions on transparency in the fashion sector. This three-day event, held from 18th-20th February 2024, gathered European fashion brands to delve into sustainable sourcing practices.
A notable moment on the second day was a presentation by Jack Stratten from Insider Trends, delving into the transformative power of retail transparency. Stratten emphasised the strong link between transparency and consumer trust, emphasising that brands embracing transparency naturally enhance their value in the eyes of consumers.
Source Fashion also explored the potential of reshoring fashion manufacturing to the UK, with industry experts advocating for a shift towards local fashion supply chains. During a panel discussion led by Lauretta Roberts, editor-in-chief of The Industry Fashion, insights were shared by Rosemary Moore, founder of Maxxam Textiles, and Simon Platts, CEO of Recomme.
The discussions highlighted fashion brands’ capacity to drive positive customer engagement and enrich product narratives, in the light of new EU regulations.
