The US-based total cutting room solution provider Eastman Machine Company recently celebrated 125 years of innovation in the industry. The company is not only synonymous with the needs of the apparel and textile industry, but rather the complete flexible materials industry, having provided their solutions to wind mill manufacturers Suzlon and LM Wind Power. Present at the GTE through its agents ALT and IIGM, the company would be showcasing its line of end cutters, straight knives and band knives for various textile materials, both in automatic and semi-automatic versions.
The highlight of the company’s showcase would be its line up of end line cutters – EC-3N, 6N and 9N, which assures increased speed, accuracy and efficiency of the end cutting operation. Available in both manual and automatic versions the cutters can virtually cut any flexible material. Equipped with a motorized cutting head, the cutters come in cutting lengths of 84″ to 120″. Further endorsing the ‘Eastman standard’ the cutters are equipped with additional features like track lifter, fabric holders, cord hanger and cloth press track.

With maximum cutting ply length of 180 mm, the machine is available in all standard electrical configurations, with the largest variety of sizes and blade speeds in the industry and manufactured in the US using superior grade materials.

Also on display will be two other machines, the Brute and Denim Brute straight knives, built on exact specifications of their standard model, considered to be the most powerful straight knife cutting machines manufactured in the world. The machines effortlessly power through high ply applications and heavy weight materials. Denim Brute, model 627X is equipped with extra-long stroke with Bevel Bloc sharpener shoes, knife slide oiler, wide rollers, lower handle bracket, coarse abrasive belts and round tip blade.
Also seen will be band knife cutting machine, models EC-700N and EC-900N, with variable speed provided by unique inverter control that adapts to cutting of every type of material. The speed can easily be changed to suit various cutting requirements by a touch panel with digital display built into work table for maximum ease of operation. New tension control mechanism assures proper knife tension; an inverter circuit fitted in the machine displays error message when overloaded. The machines are fitted with 220V/750W motor and run at a variable speed of 570 m/min to 1140 m/min.
