Apparel and textile companies dominated Southern Region Export Excellence Awards organized by Federation of India Export Organisations (FIEO), an apex body of the export promotion councils, commodity boards and export development authorities in India. List of Awardees 2014-15 includes names like Eastman Exports Global Clothing (gold) and Loyal Textile Mills (silver) in star trading house category while in star export house category, Sudhan Spinning Mills got gold. Home furnishing exporter Master Linen Inc. of Karur also won gold. Maa Yarn and Fibers (Andhra Pradesh) got silver. In top MPG category, Sri Anantha Lakshmi Spinning Mills (Andhra Pradesh) bagged gold; and Karela Veekesy Polymers from Calicut won silver.

It may be mentioned here that Eastman Exports Global Clothing is among the top exporters of Tirupur with the annual turnover of more than Rs. 1,500 crore while Loyal Textile Mills is a vertically integrated company involved in ginning and garmenting.
The award function and golden jubilee celebration will be held tonight in Chennai in which Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State (I/C) for Commerce & Industry has consented to be the Chief Guest.
