Organized by AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council), the 57th India International Garment Fair (IIGF) has concluded with mixed reactions. The fair noted visitation of 1,500 international buyers and 1,000 buying agents. Almost 400 exhibitors participated at the show from across the country and displayed entire range of apparels and accessories.
At the fair, Apparel Resources met buyers from US, UK, Iran, Israel, Canada and Mexico, and asked them about their opinion on the show and collections being displayed by Indian exporters… Most of the buyers seemed satisfied with the displayed products while some suggested that Indian apparel exporters need to work more on product development and cost competitiveness. Kathreyn of Guru, Canada said that exporters need to be truly committed when it comes to delivery time as she has experienced delays in recent years.
On the other hand, some exporters were of different opinion about the buyers/fair as Vishal Dublish of Silver Line Export informed that few of his buyers could not make it to the show as this time AEPC did not provide them with air ticket despite the fact that they were regular visitors at the show and were sourcing reasonably well from him.

Majorly seen on display were tropical, tie & dye and placement prints. Washed denim effect on cotton garments was also a key attract at the fair. Team Apparel Resources was there at the event for all three days and observed that some of the exporters still need to work hard on quality aspect.
