Xianyang Textiles Group Co. Ltd., a China-based yarn manufacturer, has deployed the ZinserRing 71, the new ring spinning system by Zinser, a leader in the market of ring spinning applications and a brand of Saurer Group, specializing in machinery and components for yarn processing.

With its energy-saving tangential belt drive, its precision-mounted high-speed spindles featuring a low power requirement and its energy-efficient motors, the economical ZinserRing 71 produces more yarn using less electricity, thus enabling the company to record a palpable drop in power consumption.

The integrated OptiStep software ensures that the start, coast-down and operational spinning speeds are optimally attuned to the technological spinning limit and enables the bobbin build to spin at the absolute maximum speed in every phase, which helps in increasing the spinning speeds without the risk of yarn breaks.

In addition to this, the drafting system of the ring spinning machine features mechanical weighting arms that guarantee consistent pressure at all spinning positions. This reliability leads to yarn values that are consistent at all times. This helped the yarn manufacturer to achieve top quality with maximum process reliability and significantly reduced maintenance input.

It may be noted here that till now, the manufacturer has installed 96 ring spinning machines by Zinser, a textile machinery manufacturer, featuring a total of more than 136,000 spindles alongside a range of ‘Autocorner’ winding equipment from its Schalfhorst subsidiary.

China’s reputation as the world’s factory of apparels appears to be standing on the edge as labour costs continue to rise, making country a costly manufacturing location. As a result, Japan, which runs apparel factories/stores in China, is focusing to shift out of the country; with some getting back to domestic production.

Womenswear retailer Honeys, headquartered in the city of Iwaki, in Fukushima Prefecture, has begun closing flagship stores in Chinese department stores. The company has decided to close down its 270 outlets in China in three years starting to Spring.

In 2016, Tokyo-based women’s apparel company, Itokin, withdrew all its operations in China after the company came to realization that there is no prospect of improving there. Although the company had 300 stores in China at its peak, but intensifying competition from local rivals had cut the profits. Other Japanese apparel companies are also reportedly reviewing their manufacturing strategies in China.

It’s worth mentioning here that many Japanese manufacturers moved their production facilities to China in pursuit of cheap labour over the years, but surging labour costs is shaking the China’s image. Even though the country is no longer registering double-digit economic growth, average wages are increasing by 10 per cent a year which is driving up the production costs exponentially in China.
