
Executive Director of Worldex India Arti Bhagat recently met President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan at the BGMEA headquarters in Dhaka even as both sides discussed ways to collaborate with the view to strengthen connections between entrepreneurs, particularly from the textile and apparel sector of Bangladesh and India, to realise untapped trade potentials.
This is as per media reports, which added in the meeting also attended by Zahir Merchant, the Senior Head (Operations & Marketing) of Worldex India, the participants discussed possible collaboration between Worldex India and the BGMEA so as to create a platform to bring businessmen of both the countries together, aimed at facilitating fruitful business interactions.
In the meeting, Faruque Hassan reportedly underlined how the existing business landscape has created opportunities for both countries to reap mutual trade benefits by complementing one another in the textile and apparel sector even as Bangladesh continues to pursue next level of growth with high-value addition, with focus on MMF (manmade fibre)-based garments, in which India is very strong.
