The Trade Ministry of Indonesia has requested the Bangladesh embassy in Jakarta to consider 16th-19th May as the tentative schedule for holding the meeting of the 4th Trade Negotiating Committee (TNC) of Bangladesh Indonesia-Preferential Trade Agreement (BI-PTA).
This is as per reports, which added the four-day meeting is scheduled to be held at Bandung, Indonesia even if earlier, it was supposed to be held the same on 15th-17th May.
Meanwhile, reports citing some unnamed sources, underlined, Jakarta wanted to conclude the signing of the proposed PTA within the next couple of months even as to expedite the negotiations, Indonesia has reportedly already sent some documents to Bangladesh pertaining to the proposed BI-PTA agreement.
However, a senior official reportedly maintained signing of the PTA was likely to take some time owing to the non-inclusion of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel in the Indonesian list of products.
