
According to Australian Wool Exchange, the Eastern Market Index ended the month of September at US $ 4.15 per pound, plunged by US $ 0.10 in the month (2 per cent). However, the prices have increased by US $ 0.06 per pound, during the past week. The declining Euro and slow European market have hurt the demand for fibre in the key regions of Australia. At the Nanjing Wool Market Conference that took place last month, concern was shown on the lesser wool production in the country and fervour over increasing trend in demand for flatbed and circular knit wool made of fibre 19 microns and larger.
