Meet Vishal Dhingra of Specialty Merchandising! He has been appointed as the new Chairman of Buying Agents Association (BAA).
Meanwhile, Christine E Rai, former Chairperson of the association, has been promoted to the position of Patron-In-Chief.
BAA is the apex body representing Indian buying agents from the MSME export sector. The association conducted its 2nd general elections for vacant seats of its governing body for 2020-22.
The new members who won the elections for the vacant seats of category one include Sanjay Khurana from Global Resources and Tanya Bhatia from Dymak India.
For the seat in category two, Sanjeev Jain from TQM Global Buying, who had been the nominated governing body member since a year, won the elections. In the institutional category, Om Prakash Prahladka from HCSSC won the election unopposed.
Sumit Chabbra of Creative Concepts continues his second term as a Vice-Chairman and the Board nominated Manoj Rana of RMS Associates and Michael Vinod of Made In India Sourcing as the other two Vice-Chairmen.
Anchal Kansal of Indsource International continues her responsibilities as the General Secretary.
Tanya Bhatia of Dymak India is now Joint Secretary and Sanjay Khurana from Global Resources is treasurer of the association.
Nitin Mohan of Triburg; Sanjeev Jain of TQM Global Buying; Deepak Joshi of MLine and Vishaal Sinha of Hermes Infraconsult will continue their terms as members of the governing body.
EPCH representation in the BAA will be by Rakesh Kumar and Handicrafts & Carpet Sector Skill Council will be represented by Om Prakash Prahladka as institutional members.
Mandira Malik of Something Else was unanimously elected as the nominated member for the vacant seat of the FM category while Rohini Suri as a Special Invitee was back on the board for her immense contribution to BAA in the last term.
