
Vietnam’s textile garment exports gathered momentum in the month of March this year. According to statistics published by Vietnam Customs, textile and garment exports from Vietnam in the period under review increased by 51.46 per cent on the previous month, to US $ 1.86 billion.
The report further states that Vietnam’s yarn exports in the reporting month reached 100,636 tonnes, up 63.1 per cent on the prior month and 9.76 per cent on yearly basis. Revenue from yarn shipment surged 4.16 per cent to US $ 249 million. Fabric exports from Vietnam also zoomed 10.76 per cent in March to US $ 99 million. Besides this, apparel shipments stood at US $ 1.51 billion, up 14.4 per cent as against the same month last year. Overall textile and garment exports during the first three months of the year surged 5.15 per cent annually, to US $ 5.14 billion.

As per industry analysts, growth in Vietnam’s export market is expected to continue in the coming months as a lot of Chinese and Korean manufacturers have moved to Vietnam, which will in turn benefit the country, followed by the recently signed Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.
