
Brassieres imports of USA have reached US $ 1.64 billion in H1 ’22, as per the latest OTEXA data. The imports have gone up by 19.32 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
Of total imports, over 73 per cent was contributed by top 4 destinations: China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
The data suggests that products as critical as brassieres majorly come from Asia in the USA.
China shipped brassieres worth US $ 540.22 million (up 15 per cent) in H1 ’22, which is followed by Vietnam and Indonesia that fetched US $ 349.23 million (up 30.85 per cent) and US $ 197.14 million (up 53 per cent) in their respective brassieres exports to USA.
Sri Lanka exported US $ 143.10 million worth of brassieres to USA in the first half of 2022, growing by 11.26 per cent on Y-o-Y.
Bangladesh too witnessed double-digit growth of 17.67 per cent in its brassieres shipment to USA that valued US $ 96.06 million in the first 6-month period of 2022.
Next in the list are Thailand, Honduras and El Salvador which plunged in their respective brassieres shipment to USA in H1 ’22, while Colombia noted miniscule growth of 1 per cent.
