
The value of the US man-made fibres and filament, textile and apparel shipments reached US $ 74.4 billion in the year 2016. The National Council of Textile Organization (NCTO) of US reports that the country has witnessed an 11 per cent increase in the values since 2009.
According to NCTO, US’ shipments for yarns and fabrics was recorded US $ 30.3 billion, for home furnishings, carpet, and other non-apparel sewn products US $ 24.0 billion, for apparel US $12.7 billion and for man-made fibres it was US $ 7.4 billion at the end of December in 2016.

NCTO further says that the rise in shipment value was achieved due to healthy capital expenditures in 2015. Investment in fibre, yarn, fabric, and other non-apparel textile product manufacturing has climbed from US $ 960 million in 2009 to US $ 1.7 billion in 2015 – an increase of 75 per cent.
Though if compared with 2015, value of shipment fell by US $ 1.6 billion. In 2015, the value of US man-made fibre and filament, textile, and apparel shipments totalled US $ 76 billion.
