Eight of every ten yoga-garments sold in the US use fabrics from Taiwan firms, which make up for Taiwan’s one fourth of the total exports of US $ 33.1 billion. Bureau of Foreign Trade Chief Secretary Wang Cheng-fu told that country’s textile companies exported textiles worth US$ 8.4 billion last year. According to the Taiwan Textile Federation’s statistics of the first nine months of the year, exports of the nation’s textile and apparel industry touched US $ 8.69 billion, down 0.1 per cent from the same period last year while Imports for the same period increased 4 per cent year-on-year to US $ 2.51 billion.
