Under the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), the Apparel, Made-ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (SSC) has been constituted with the aim of developing 2,126 trainers, over 18 lakh certified workers, 27 traders for competency framework and 41 accreditation organizations in a 10 years horizon.
Dr A. Sakthivel is the first Chairman of the SSC, which is mandated to develop a skills repository, standards, evaluation criterions, and accreditation system for creating employability in the vital sector.
