One of the stalwarts of Indian apparel industry, A. Sakthivel is the new Chairman of the Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC). He has taken over from Premal Udani, MD, Kaytee Corporations Pvt. Ltd.
Since its inception, AMHSSC has been proactively spearheading the skilling initiatives under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It has certified around two million people so far in the apparel and made-ups sector.
With an experience of over three-and-a-half decades, A Sakthivel is also President of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) and Honorary Chairman of the Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA). He was also the first Chairman of AMHSSC.
In a press release issued by AMHSSC, Premal Udani was also thanked for his excellent contribution in the development of the council and leading the team for two years.
