Gurgaon based S.A.T. Fashions, now a buying agency (since four months), was basically a high-end men’s shirt manufacturing company with 100 machines setup at IMT, Manesar but due to the area becoming expensive by the day and ongoing labour problems, the company’s management decided to shut down its production unit and operate as a buying agency to feed its buyers.
Neena Goyal, the Proprietor of the buying office while interacting with Team Apparel Online says, “Now I am getting my manufacturing done by the job workers. I have given my headache to other people and we are hassle-free. The exporters who do not want to export directly can export in our name. We do not have to look after production; there are so many minute things which need attention in manufacturing and take away a lot of time.”

S.A.T. has its own trading setup in Germany since 1981 and an office in Dhaka both of which are being looked after by her husband. “From Dhaka we are sourcing reasonably big quantities in basic shirts. The name of the buying office there is Shivalik,” shares Neena.
Specialising in yarn dyed men’s shirt with value additions like embroidery, decorative stitches etc., the company procures its fabrics from Erode and Salem (South India) and gets it stitched from garment manufacturers in Delhi-NCR region. The company is also sourcing shirts for kids.
The buying agency is catering to buyers in Germany, Holland, UAE and Sri Lanka. “In Sri Lanka we are doing for Odel (department store), Blue Age in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) which is one of the biggest stores there and in Holland we have a buyer for kids called Kiddo,” avers Neena.
