Syed Mohammed Tanvir, the Managing Director of Pacific Jeans, has been appointed as the independent Director at the Chittagong Stock Exchange.
Media reports maintained this while adding that BSEC or the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, which is the securities regulatory body in the country, has approved the appointment of Tanvir as the new independent Director of the Chittagong Stock Exchange.
In a press release issued in this direction by the BSEC, the securities regulatory body maintained that the appointment of Syed Mohammed Tanvir as an independent Director, who is also the elected Director of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been approved as per 3(2) of the Chittagong Stock Exchange Resolutions-2013.
The approval was, reportedly, given at the 758th commission, held on 20 January 2021 and presided over by the Chairman of BSEC, Professor Dr. Shibli Rubayat-ul-Islam.
Subsequently on 21 January 2021, the Chittagong Stock Exchange issued a letter in this direction.
