The Bangladesh Cotton Development Board’s (CDB) executive director, Md. Fakhre Alam Ibne Tabib, was recently named vice-chair of the standing committee of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), he joined as the Executive Director of the Cotton Development Board on 4th January 2023.
The committee has been formed to have oversight of ICAC’s strategic review process and ensure that timelines and key objectives are being met. The objective of the strategic review was to enhance the comprehensiveness of the ICAC’s current statistical, technical, trade, and policy streams of work.
During his 29-year-long career, Dr. Tabib has gained expertise and experience in cotton cultivation extension, research and publication on cotton, project DPP preparation, planning, monitoring, and administrative and financial management.
The ICAC is an association of members of cotton-producing, consuming, and trading countries. The Committee was formed in 1939, and the Secretariat was established in 1946.
