Mauritian companies to put money in Zimbabwean textile sector

At the recently concluded Mauritius-Zimbabwe buyers and sellers meeting organized by Enterprise Mauritius in Zimbabwe, it was declared that three Mauritius based textile companies will invest US $ 2.4 million in Zimbabwean textile and clothing sector.Speaking on the occasion, Enterprise Mauritius Chairperson Amedee Darga informed that one contract has been signed amid the Mauritius and Zimbabwean companies for US $ 500,000, while the other two are of US $ 1.2 million and US $ 750,000. The investment will improve value addition through implementation of initiatives that are targeted towards the betterment of Zimbabwe’s ginning capacity in spinning, weaving as well as in finished garments and home textiles.
