Bangladesh will continue to enjoy duty and quota free treatment for its products in the Australian market even after the country graduates to a developing nation in 2026.
Media reports maintained this adding as per a statement issued by the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra, Australia formally made this commitment at a Joint Working Group (JWG) on trade and investment meeting, held recently.
In a video message, Dan Tehan, the Australian Trade Minister, reportedly, underlined Australia and Bangladesh were moving to a new level of partnership, based on shared interests, values and people-to-people connection, and increasingly marked by the dynamism of the commercial ties even as the two countries have also, reportedly, agreed to enhance industry connections between Australian exporters (of raw materials like cotton, wool, hides and importers) and Bangladesh manufacturers.
