Only 4 states, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Gujarat that are known for apparel and textile industry were able to mark their presence in Top 10 states under State Reform Action Plan 2019.
The Government has issued the 4th edition of Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) ranking of states. It includes 180 reform points covering 12 business regulatory areas such as access to information, single window system, labour and environment, etc.
The larger objective of attracting investments and increasing ease of doing business in each state was sought to be achieved by introducing an element of healthy competition through a system of ranking states based on their performance in the implementation of BRAP.
While Tamil Nadu occupies the 14th spot, Karnataka is at 17. Haryana remained at 16th position, with Punjab taking the 19th spot.
