Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a workshop on Karnataka Industrial Policy – 2014-19, H. Anjaneya, Karnataka’s Minister for Social Welfare and District In-Charge said that the State Government has decided to establish textile parks in every taluka of the State. It will encourage youth to become entrepreneurs and become self-dependent. There are more than 200 talukas in the state.
In the first phase, a total of 20 acres of land has been identified at Holalkere taluka and the textile park would be set up and steps would be taken to develop such parks in different talukas of the district. The State Government has decided to adopt a new policy to help establish small and medium industries by providing 35 per cent financial assistance to general category, 40 per cent to women and 50 per cent financial assistance to those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Under the new policy, the State Government would provide power, land, water and other infrastructure including loans from banks and financial institutions at very reasonable rate of interests.
