In order to boost textile imports from Pakistan from February 2016, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will be developing a website that will help exports from Pakistan gain access to important information about Japanese markets. In a move to understand each other’s demands better, the Japanese importers recently visited the Pakistan-Japan Textile Day held in Lahore and the Japanese importers also suggested that Pakistani importers should approach their Government to enter into a Free Trade Agreement between Japan and Pakistan.
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (FCCI) Senior Vice President Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain also requested JICA to set up a laboratory that could issue certificates and a water treatment plant in Faisalabad.
