At a meeting held between the delegation of YKK and the Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association, both the sides discussed the opportunities for establishing and strengthening mutual cooperation of local manufacturers of textile sector with a global brand.
The YKK delegation was headed by Yamashita, Head, Central Asian Office, YKK. The meeting further stressed that significant reforms made in the textile sector had resulted in the increase of exports of finished textile items.
YKK operates in over 70 countries worldwide and has its production units in 6 nations across the continents of Central Asia and Europe. Yamashita also added that the changing dynamics in the political as well as economic life of Uzbekistan was good enough to make it an important nation for international cooperation.
Besides opening a YKK office in Uzbekistan, both the sides also talked about a joint venture for textile accessories and fittings.
Additionally, there are also plans to arrange a meeting between Japanese delegates and the sewing and knit makers of Namangan, one of the regions of Uzbekistan.
