
A high-level team from the Asian Apparel Production Network (AAP) of Japan visited the BGMEA to talk about potential strategic opportunities for greater collaboration in the apparel and textile sectors.
During the meeting, the AAP delegation, comprising senior executives from leading Japanese apparel and textile companies, met with Mahmud Hasan Khan, President, BGMEA and members of the BGMEA Board. They discussed ways to strengthen trade ties, attract investment, advance innovation and enhance sustainable manufacturing practices.
Bangladesh’s developing leadership in the creation of ethical and sustainable clothing was a major topic of discussion. The Japanese delegates acknowledged Bangladesh’s advancements and the demand for clothing around the world and they showed a great deal of interest in BGMEA’s sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing activities.
Both BGMEA and AAP reiterated their dedication to creating collaborative frameworks in order to build on this momentum. The two countries’ export capabilities, investment flows and innovative partnerships were all improved by this cooperation and support.
The visit represents a growing strategic alignment between Japanese stakeholders looking for a dependable, transparent supply chain and Bangladesh’s apparel industry.
The partnership gives Bangladesh’s textile and clothing sector a chance to boost its value offering, especially in value-added manufacturing and make best use of Japanese investment and technology cooperation to improve its competitiveness in the global market.
