Japan has decided to relax rules of origin for export of Bangladeshi knitwear products to the Japanese market. “The modalities on it will be worked out now,” informed M Shahidul Haque, Foreign Secretary, Bangladesh. Japan’s decision was conveyed at the first-ever Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between Bangladesh and Japan held at the Foreign Ministry. The development has been appreciated by Bangladesh, and Japan expressed interest in helping Bangladesh in its industrialization through massive investment.
