The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) — the UNDP works to eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities through the sustainable development of nations, in more than 170 countries and territories — is all set to continue supporting the local small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in Bangladesh through its ‘Innovation in SME Export Readiness and LDC Graduation Program.’
Speaking at a programme in capital Dhaka recently, the country economist and head of policy and strategic advisory unit at the UNDP, Nazneen Ahmed, reportedly shared the same even as she reportedly underlined UNDP was happy to take the first step of including the SME entrepreneurs in the export scenario.
Addressing the closing of a 14-day programme, Nazneen reportedly observed the country (Bangladesh) has a lot of potential for producing import substitute products and UNDP wants to see the products tagged ‘Made in Bangladesh’ in the global market.
