Indian textile giants are continuous expanding and the new name in the list is Indorama India (formerly Indorama Industries Limited).
The company, a part of Singapore-based Indorama Corporation, producing and marketing the INVIYA brand of spandex since 2012, solemnly held the ground breaking ceremony for the third factory on the existing site in Buddy (Himachal Pradesh).
As per the company, the new facility will increase it spandex capacity by 75 MT/day by the end of 2022.
Expansion in this segment can be natural as market research reports claim that Spandex market demand is pegged at around 45,000 MTs in India and with a push from the Government, this is slated to grow at CAGR of around 14-15 per cent.
INVIYA is well-positioned to provide functional solutions for high-end garments, elastic cords, accessories such as tapes and hygienic products such as diapers. By the way, Indorama is the only company in the Indian subcontinent that manufactures elastomeric threads (elastic/thin cloth/diapers) for these applications.
