Bangalore-based Indian Designs has recently appointed Piyush Vyas, as the new Chief Operating Officer of its Bangladesh project proposed at the Karnaphuli Export Promotion Zone, Chittagong – BD Designs. The investment in this unit has been around US $ 9 million for an annual production capacity of 3.4 million pieces of jackets, pants, shirts, T-shirts, suits and undergarments.
The appointment of ex-Chief Operating Officer at Mumbai-based Mandhana industries, Piyush Vyas with more than two decades of experience in apparel manufacturing with product specialisation in Shirts, Bottoms and Knits, is the first appointment to the top management of the Bangladesh project.
Indian Designs has been registering consistent growth with its top line increasing US $ 30 million in FY 2010-11 to US $ 47 million in FY 2011-12 and projections to touch US $ 56 million in FY 2012-13.
