
As 200 women artisans have been undergoing six months intensive training in textile ornamentation under the Kerala Artisans Development Corporation (KADCO), the Kerala Government will actively consider setting up garment production centres. In an interactive session with the trainees and garment industrialists organized by the corporation, the Kerala government is ready to provide the necessary infrastructure for setting up such centres in Thrissur and Ernakulam. Leading textile groups such as Jolly Silks, Chakolas and Kalyan Silks extended support to the women at the session, hosted by the Institute for Entrepreneurship Development at Kalamassery, opening new business opportunities to them.
