Bangladesh is home to thousands of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) even as the SME sector is considered the bloodline of the country’s economy.
Experts recently once again highlighted the importance of this sector when they called for exploring the potential of the SME sector to create jobs for faster economic growth.
Business leaders and experts made this observation at the recent launch ceremony of a 10-day ‘BSCIC Entrepreneur Fair-2022’ being held at Rangpur and jointly organised by the district administration and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
According to media reports, a large number of design and fashion wares, readymade garments, leather and jute-made products, handicraft and handloom
items, agricultural products, electrical and electronic goods along with other SME products are being exhibited in the ongoing fair.
