Donations to Rana Plaza Donors Trust Fund reach US $ 30 million

Having reached the US $ 30 million mark after a “large anonymous donation” was made, the Rana Plaza Donors Trust Fund will begin work to finalise and pay all of the Awards agreed under the Arrangement. The Awards include loss of income payments, medical care and supplementary payments, to all eligible beneficiaries over the coming weeks. The US $ 30 million mark was announced in November 2014, as the Trust had computed that it would need around US $ 30 million to pay in full more than 5,000 awards granted through the compensation scheme.
