
According to Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue (NBR), customs stations in the country will remain open on a limited scale during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, which are scheduled to begin from 27th June.
This is as per reports, which added the purpose of keeping the customs stations operational during this period is to ensure smooth international trade.
Exporters and importers will be able to avail customs-related services at ports throughout the holidays, from 27th June to 1st July, with the exception of the actual Eid days.
The NBR, in a letter signed by Mohd Parvez Reza Chowdhury, the second secretary for customs policy, has notified all customs houses and stations, as well as the Bangladesh Bank (the central bank of Bangladesh), leading chambers, and exporters’ association about this arrangement.
As per reports, there are four customs houses and 35 land customs stations for import and export activities and for passenger movement across Bangladesh of which Chittagong Customs House is the biggest station in terms of revenue and volume of cargo.
