The outbreak of Coronavirus in China, which is feared to have an adverse impact on the global trade and commerce, may present growth opportunities for the Bangladesh garment manufacturing industry.
This some experts opined while taking part in the three-day 27th US Trade Show-2020 being held at Dhaka jointly by US embassy and American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham).
“Countries around the world have got the message that sourcing products from a single country is risky. That realisation can benefit Bangladesh if it takes proper preparation,” maintained AmCham President Syed Ershad while underlining that Bangladesh needs proper research and survey to diversify its export basket and increase exports to USA.
Bangladesh’s Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the US Trade Show-2020 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, attended amongst others by chargé d’affaires at the US embassy in Dhaka JoAnne Wagner, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Sirazul Islam and AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed.
